Θ A/ΓI/OC - ΓЄ/ⲰP/ΓIO/C Saint George, nimbate, standing facing, holding spear in his right hand and resting his left hand on shield. Rev. [Γ]PAΦAC KV/[P]ⲰN MOI KⲰNCTAN/[T]INⲰ TZI[M]ΠEA / [E]K TPOMATⲰN / [P]V૪ MЄ CV CTPA/[T]HΛATA ("Affirming what is written to me, Konstantinos Tzimpeas, you, General (Saint George), deliver me from harm") in six lines. A Konstantinos Tzimpeas is attested for the year 1279 as Apographeus in Thessaloniki, whereas a member of the same family named Theodoros is attested in 1304 as servant of the emperor. The family name may be connected to the fortress Tzympe (Çimpe) on the Gallipoli peninsula
